Job Title: Oracle DBA
Job Type: Contractor (Government project)
Pay Rate: DOE/Competitive
Location: Springfield, VA (Against the traffic)
Required: US citizen
Environment: Friendly working environment
Flexible working hours; Government AWS schedule (9 hours/day, one day off every two weeks)
Contract Term: Long term (up to 4 years)
Responsibilities:
· Develops and maintains operational databases.
· Supports the development of database projects to include needed resources.
· Develops database backup and recovery processes and hardware.
· Prepares and delivers presentations on database management systems (DBMS) concepts.
Skills:
Must Have:
· 5+ years IT experience
· Solid knowledge of Oracle DBA concepts
· Real hands-on experience of Oracle Admin on Sun Solaris or other UNIX servers
· Familiar with Oracle's 9i/10g new features
· Knowledge of data warehouse concepts/design. Hands-on experience of large database administration or exposure to it. Good understanding of partitioning, material views, parallel queries, and bulk loading.
· Unix Shell scripting
· Good presentation skills
Should Have: Oracle RMAN; Oracle RAC; Oracle Data Guards; Oracle Application Server Admin; Any Other Oracle application you have used
