Article I. Name
The name of the organization is the Zhejiang University Alumni Association in Greater Detroit (ZUAAGD).Article II. Purposes
- The ZUAAGD is an independent, non-political, and non-profit social organization of the Zhejiang University alumni and their families in the greater Detroit area.
- The ZUAAGD intends to promote unity, support, communication, cooperation, harmony and friendship among its members.
Article III. Activities
- To establish and develop communication network among the alumni.
- To promote communication among Zhejiang University Alumni organizations of all regions and at all levels.
- To compile a club directory, publish a club newsletter, and distribute news and information related to Zhejiang University.
- To organize academic, cultural, entertaining, and social activities.
- To participate in other external activities that are of interest to the ZUAAGD.
Article IV. Membership
- A ZUAAGD alumnus is anyone who has studied and/or worked at Zhejiang University.
- One becomes a member of the ZUAAGD if she/he: (1) is a Zhejiang University alumnus (as defined in IV. 1) or an immediate family member (a parent, spouse, or child) of a Zhejiang University alumnus, (2) resides (temporarily or permanently) in the greater Detroit area.
- A member (as qualified in IV. 2) has the right to vote and to be voted in the ZUAAGD.
Article V. Organization
- The ZUAAGD activities are directed by the Executive Committee that consists of five officers: the President, Vice President/Web Master, General Secretary/Treasurer, General Activity Director, and Media Director.
- The President is elected once every two years by the attending members in a ZUAAGD general meeting. No one shall be elected as the President twice. Should the President be unable to complete the elected term, the Vice President/Treasurer automatically assumes the responsibilities of the President until the next election, provided that the Vice President be eligible for being elected as the President.
- The President shall appoint the rest of the Executive Committee members.
- The ZUAAGD Executive Committee organizes activities specified in Article III.
- The ZUAAGD Executive Committee officers can represent the association to participate in various external activities that are of interest to the ZUAAGD.
- The ZUAAGD Executive Committee officers cannot represent the association to participate in political activities and make political statements without a prior approval by all members of the Executive Committee.
Article VI. Articles
The Articles and its revision need approval by the two thirds of the attending ZUAAGD members in a general meeting.
